Riverside Kitchen in Whitefield

I went to this place for Bday party in my family - It was a weekend, so it took some time to find a table here. I liked this place as we entered, with bright lights and a good decor. However, I was not able to make sense of the name Riverside!! It is neither facing a river, or has a river feel or is a seafood specialty. May be they have built a mini pool inside that is the reason or possibly I did notice that the menu had a lot of sea food varieties.

Ambiance - The decor is good, nicely laid out tables and a colorful bar. There is also a small pool, but when we went there it was completely dry. The lighting is good and gives this place a festive feel. However, I enjoy quieter places, this was a bit noisy as too many tables under one roof and all the people talking.

Food - This is one thing we go to a restaurant for - to enjoy good food. Indeed it was good. The starters were presented well, in terms of plating and quantity and so was the main course. The waiters helped to serve the food, which was good.

The menu is quite exhaustive with a variety of vegetarian, seafood and meats with lots of options in starters as well as main course
Here is some of the things we ordered and enjoyed.
Murg Chakori Kabab - Very juicy and well spiced chicken kababs, marinated with palak, methi and herbs

Chinese veg platter - This had a variety of chinese veg starters on the platter from Crispy veg to Manchurians and some chilli veg etc.

Butter Chicken - My favorite. Nice buttery gravy with succulent boneless chicken !! Yummy!!

They also gave us some complimentary pastries, but these were too miniscule, would finish in one bite kind of a thing. And they were just 2, for a table of 6 people !! So we gave them to the kids in our group.

Service - The staff is polite and do cater to custom requests such as low spice etc. They are also knowledgeable about the dishes so will give good advice on what to order.

Price - Its not overpriced but not economical either. But then there are only a few places in Bangalore which come reasonable. Can go there occasionally though.
Dinner for two (excluding drinks) would cost around Rs1000/-

Location - Whitefield Main road. Near to Cheenavala.

  4. Maybe they named it so because it sounds western? That's what many restaurants do...

Anyway, sounds so-so going by your description!
